Geomantic Science is as ancient as astrology itself. It was firstly designed to illustrate figures in the sand or in a cup of coffee. The name of this science was derived from the words -"geo" meaning earth and "minty" meaning prediction. This method was based only on the ability of a person to understand abstract figures.
The most famous work in this area belonged to Pierre D'Abano. He named his work 'Horoscope' and his method of understanding this science is recognised as the accepted one. On a sheet of paper you would plot many points that you wished to illustrate, and after you made these points, you would continue to draw lines between them until you have one or two of them together. Each of these points are joined together until we have a configuration of a figure.
The fate of D'Abano was very complex. He was jealous of one of his colleagues who wrote badly of him during his inquisition in Europe, and it was the catalyst to put all their works on fire that did not correspond to his religious ideas. Their books were put on fire and they was lucky to avoid being killed.
Every figure corresponds to a planet or a moon in the sky, and helps us to understand the meaning of the card. There are 16 figures in general and they can be divided as follows:
There are 7 positive, 6 negative and 3 neutral geomantical figures:
